Daffodils and Marigolds
Daffodils and Marigolds
Raindrops and tears
Goodnights and welcome
A time to begin
The time has passed like water through a sieve
One day I was writing, scribbling away
Then time had passed and nothing remained except questions
and confusion again and again
Challenges put on hold
Questions unasked
Why would the words not come
My pen would leave no mark on the paper
I wanted to know why the driving force had vanished
Time passed in a room so small
Upon a bed I laid
Images in a blur moved through the revolving door between
What was - What is and - What could be
A glass of water – lukewarm
Food so far removed from the recognisable
would not touch my pallet
Tears were cried for fear of all being lost
But there was a seed protected by a love so small,
so fragile yet so strong
This seed survived the trip down the path of despair
Its roots buried deep in fear, yet it grew and still this moment
it grows
Daffodils and Marigolds come to full bud
They bloom, releasing an array of strength and hope
I remember their beauty
I know I can cope
